Man Blinded While Enjoying Medieval Times Show

September 19, 2012

A man named Dustin Wiseman is suing Medieval Times after he was blinded while enjoying the dinner show with his new wife Melissa.

According to the Daily Mail, Dustin, 37, was injured by a piece of metal that flew off a titanium sword being using during a mock sword fight.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Medieval Times, it is a dinner show where people eat with their hands while watching people in armor fight and joust.

Dustin and Melissa are from South Dakota and were  in California on their honeymoon. They purchased VIP seats for Medieval Times and sat in the front row. Apparently, they were a little too close.

Honestly, I always thought the fighting was fake and maybe in some ways it is, but obviously injuries can still occur.

The newlyweds have started out their marriage testing the “for better or for worse” portion of their vows because now Dustin has essentially lost vision in his left eye.

“He’s undergone at least three surgeries and still is legally blind, essentially, in his left eye,” said Dustin’s attorney Jason Fowler.

Dustin is suing Medieval Times for $10 million dollars claiming they didn’t do enough to protect their clients from injuries related to these mock fights.

What do you think?
