Kellie Pickler Shaves Her Head For Cancer

Kellie Pickler’s luxurious blonde hair is gone after the singer shaved her head in support of her dear friend who is battling breast cancer.

According to People, Kellie decided the best way to support her friend Summer Holt Miller, 36, who is about to begin chemotherapy treatment, was to get rid of her own hair.

Kellie and her friend Summer hope that other women will see this photo and decide to get screened for cancer before it’s too late.

“If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it,” said Summer.

I couldn’t agree more.

It’s nice to hear that Kellie has decided to take drastic measures to support her friend because not very many other women, especially those in Hollywood, would do the same.

Saying goodbye to your hair may not sound like a big deal for some of you, but for people in the entertainment business, it’s a big deal. Just try thinking of Jennifer Aniston without her hair? She is known for her hair, celebrated for her hair, and it’s a part of what makes her who she is. Without hair, Jennifer Aniston would not be the Jennifer Aniston her fans have come to love and that’s why she hasn’t changed her hair in … well, she never has!

With that said, I think I’m in love with Kellie Pickler now. I think what she did to support her friend is great and I hope this good deed becomes a trend that never goes out of style.
