‘Boardwalk Empire’ Boring Recap Of Spaghetti & Coffee

If you’re anything like me, you may have found this weeks episode of Boardwalk Empire, titled Spaghetti & Coffee, a tad boring.

Now I don’t expect each minute of every episode of Boardwalk Empire to be filled with graphic violence and action (even though that would be awesome!), but this last episode just fell flat. There was too much going on and not enough of it was very interesting.

I’m sure most of what took place in this last episode will lead up to better, more exciting things in the future. But this is the very time I’ve been really disappointed with the show.

Anyway, here is a short recap of what happened:

Nucky is more interested in the goings-on of his new mistress Billie than his business dealings. He is spending more time with Billie in NYC and is showing signs of jealousy when he sees her talking to another man. She may turn out to be a deadly distraction for Nucky and that could mean very bad news for Billie.

For some reason, Chalky White is trying to force his daughter into marrying a doctor. This particular storyline just didn’t seem to flow or have anything to do with the rest of the story (I feel the same way about Nelson Van Alden). Again, I’m sure this backstory will come into play later, but still it bored me to tears.

Nucky’s younger brother Eli got out of prison and again, this made no sense. I still have no idea what he was in prison for. Eli returned home to his gang of children and his oldest son didn’t seem too interested in him. It appears that in the time Eli was away, his son grew up and no longer needs him.

The most interesting part of the story was bada** Gyp Rosetti. There was so much tension with everything Gyp did that you expected bullets to fly at any moment. Unfortunately, they didn’t – although that may have made the episode more enjoyable.

In next week’s all new episode titled Bone For Tuna, Nucky comes face-to-face with Gyp to discuss their differences. Hopefully next weeks episode is way more interesting than this one.
