Nurse Jennifer Gallagher Drowns A Month After Helping Aurora Shooting Victims

Jennifer Gallagher was one of the nurses on duty after the horrific shooting in Aurora last month and on August 6th, her body was found in West Okoboji Lake in Iowa.

According to the Huffington Post, Jennifer Gallagher, 46, was swimming in the lake at night when she drowned. Her lifeless body was found the next day under a dock.

Gallagher, who was one of the nurses who met with President Obama July 22 when he visited with families and survivors at the hospital, had worked at the University of Colorado Hospital for 13 years, according to the Associated Press. She had helped open the hospital’s neurological intensive care unit.

“She worked the morning after the Batman massacre in a very busy unit of the hospital – so she saw everything really, some really bad injuries,” her husband, Greg, said to KMGH.

This is absolutely horrible and kind of reminds me of the horror film Final Destination. Sure, Jennifer didn’t cheat death at the Batman movie, but it’s so tragic you can’t help but make comparisons.

Out thoughts go out to Jennifer’s family during this incredibly difficult time.

Jennifer Gallagher is survived by her husband Greg and their 5-year-old son.
