Gunman Kills A Dozen People Watching Batman Movie

A masked gunman opened fire on a theater full of men, women, and children who were watching the new film Batman: The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado. At this time, at least 14 12 have been confirmed dead and over 50 injured.
According to CBS News, one suspect has been arrested, but their identity has not been released yet.
Witnesses claim the gunman entered the theater, which was full of excited Batman fans (some of whom were dressed in costume) and began shooting people at random.
Reports claim some of the victims are in fact children.
This is an absolutely horrific crime.

Update:
According to the Daily Mail, the attacker has been identified as 24-year-old James Holmes (pictured below).
James was apparently a former PhD student who was studying neuroscience.
At this time, 12 victims are confirmed dead and at least 38 others were hospitaluzed. One of the victims was a 3-month-old baby who was shot at point blank range in the back.
Holmes kicked down a door to the packed theater in Aurora, dressed in black and wearing a gas mask and bullet-proof vest.
He threw a smoke grenade and waited for it to explode before opening fire with four guns – an assault rifle, a shotgun and two pistols – and firing randomly into the audience.Our thoughts to out to everyone affected by this horrible tragedy.
