Fans of the hit SyFy series Ghost Hunters will be happy to know that Steve Gonsalves will be replacing Grant Wilson as lead investigator.
An official announcement has not been made yet, however Jason Hawes has shared some cryptic hints that lead us to believe it’s true.
For instance, Jason wrote “Life is like a game of Chess, changing with each move” on Wednesday evening on Facebook:

Life is like a game of Chess, changing with each move.
Jason also shared the following photo of him playing chess with Steve:
Steve Gonsalves is the logical replacement for Grant Wilson because he has the most seniority and has a great rapport with Jason Hawes.
Unfortunately, that means Dave Tango will have to find a new sidekick, but we’re sure the odd couple of ghost hunting will still make fans laugh with their hijinks.
As for those rumors that Kris Williams will be leaving Ghost Hunters International to step-in for Grant Wilson, they are just not true. In fact, Kris decided to address these rumors on Facebook: “To address rumors… I am NOT going back to GH. People keep asking me if I’ll be going back to replace Grant-I wont be. Besides, if that spot was open for grabs-Steve would deserve it. So, if i were offered it I would say no.”
So there you have it.
It’s always possible that Jason Hawes will lead the team as the lone lead investigator, but the show isn’t set up for solo investigations. This means Jason will not be investigating alone and in the past when Grant was absent, it was always Steve who stepped in.
As for what the team will during for those rare investigations that require the team fly to the location, well they will probably do what they always do. In the past, Steve would stay back at TAPS headquarters and the team would either replace Steve with another investigator or they just investigate with a smaller team.
Either way, this is great news. Steve Gonsalves really is the best person to replace Grant Wilson.
The new season of Ghost Hunters will premiere in September!
