Against Me! Singer Reveals He’s Transgender

Tom Gabel, the lead singer of Against Me! has gone public with news that he has gender dysphoria and is in the process of becoming a woman.

According to GossipCop, Tom, 31, is going to transform into Laura Jane Grace “though hormone treatment, electrolysis and potential reassignment surgery.”

Tom and his wife Heather have one child together and will remain married.

Kudos to Heather!

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Tom explained his decision to share this news with the world:

“I’m going to have embarrassing moments, and that won’t be fun. But that’s part of what talking to you is about — is hoping people will understand, and hoping they’ll be fairly kind,” said Tom.

Well that is a big and very difficult decision to make.

I happen to be a huge fan of Against Me! and actually saw them in concert. They are amazing and full of energy.
