Fans of The Colbert Report, starring Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central, were shocked to learn that filming had been suddenly suspended.
According to People, the reason cited was an “unspecified family emergency”, however sources close to Colbert report claim that his mother, Lorna Colbert, has fallen ill. She is 91 years old.
If this rumor is true, we can certainly understand why production of The Colbert Report would be suspended. Although Stephen is an incredibly funny man, we imagine it would be very difficult to be funny if your mind is focused on personal problems.
Whatever the cause, we wish the Colbert family all the best. Family comes first!
