NASA Shuttle Worker Dies After Fall

March 14, 2011

A shuttle worker at the Kennedy Space Center has died after falling from the launch pad where the space shuttle Endeavor is scheduled for lift-off April 19th, according to the Orlando News.

The worker has been identified as James Vanover, however details of the fall have not been revealed.

Kennedy Space Center spokesman, Allard Beutel, had the following to say:

“Obviously, as you can imagine, our focus is on the workers and the family of the employee, but an investigation is beginning.”

The Vanover family stated their son was going to be laid off by NASA next month, but already had another job lined up.

So sad.

Our thoughts go out to the Vanover family.
