Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz Divorcing

There is big trouble in marriage-land, Ashlee Simpson filed for divorce from Pete Wentz after only 3 years of marriage, according to E! News.

The couple has released the typical scripted announcement:

“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” the couple said in a joint statement. “We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives.”

Why hasn’t a celebra-dork ever said, “I can’t stand this guy, we’re not friends. Hello? That’s why we’re not together anymore.”

I mean, as rude as that may sound, at least it sounds more honest and refreshing than saying your still friends and only want what’s best for each other. We all know they aren’t friends. Someone is not happy.

I imagine lots of tears and a few dishes smashed against the wall.
